The 1881 Courthouse Museum is pleased to partner with Petals & Pages for a special author presentation featuring Stephen L. Wilson on June 30 at 4pm.

Wilson will discuss his award-winning book, South Dakota Crusader: Francis Case's Road to Congress, which explores the life and legacy of one of South Dakota's most influential political figures. The book earned a Gold Award in the Biography category at the 2025 Midwest Book Awards and was featured at the South Dakota Festival of Books in Spearfish.

A graduate of the University of South Dakota, Wilson attended Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar and later earned his law degree from the University of Michigan. Following a distinguished 35-year legal career, he retired in 2013 and also served as an adjunct professor at Concordia University, St. Paul. He is the author of three books.

The presentation will take place in the historic courtroom at the 1881 Courthouse Museum. While the museum's regular hours end at 5 p.m., the building will remain open for attendees of this special event.

Join us for an engaging afternoon of South Dakota history, storytelling, and conversation with the author.
